Space truckin' here I come

So I decide that I want to get an Anaconda. I can't afford one right now without pretty much offloading my entire fleet.

So for now I've gone and bought a T9 so I can do some bulk trading. I sold the following fully kitted out ships to get it:
Asp Explorer (I still have one more)
Vulture
T6
Diamondback Explorer

Plus, I also offloaded my stock Federal Assault Ship and Keelback. I figured out I'd make back money pretty quickly with a cargo capacity of around 470T. I just need to find an A6 FSD as Ising Dock in 109 Piscium didn't have one.

Now, let's see if I can fit it through the mailslot!

Try Farewalan (sp?) for the FSD. It's not too far from you. Or HR 1257...

What do you plan on trucking? Rares? Normal goods but on a trade route? Something more...lucrative?

Looking at the tools out there, I'm gonna go with the obvious and truck around some Imperial Slaves. In my mind there's no point doing rares in a T9 as you don't make best use of all the cargo space. I'd probably use my Asp for rares as it has more than enough space and can make the long route in minimum time.

Congrats! This is the exact route I took and I dearly miss my T9. At some point I found myself being interdicted by PvE Anaconda's and unable to escape them.....which sucks big time if your hauling almost 500 tons Imp slaves. I am now in my trade fit conda and loving it as well. Best of luck to ya!

The Anaconda's my main aim for this. I figured having had the game since the GPP it's about time I had one!

I basically sold the ships I don't use so much. I still have an Asp Explorer and Cobra set up for smuggling, and a near fully A-rated Python and FDL to go to, so can pretty much do any role I want (except piracy, but that holds no interest for me).

I set out with the aim of getting an anaconda and tried the T9 along the way. Damn that thing is awful to fly. I sold it and plugged away with a python until I could get the Conda. I could make much faster runs to outposts and made the required amount possibly quicker... Either way it was more enjoyable in the Python.

I'll have a go at flying it tonight. Then I'll know whether or not I've made an awful mistake.

I liked mine but others are right (I didn't believe them): The higher jump range and better manoeuvrability of the Anaconda far outweighs the Type 9's higher capacity. Getting the space whale to another route when your current one runs dry can be a right pain.
An Anaconda outfitted for trading will set you back 160m at Diaguandri, so as soon as you can, get one.

Thanks. I can't be too far off that really as I still have around 40m left in the bank, although that's gonna take a bit of a hit when I get the better FSD.

The T9 is slow and helpless *but* that 500T cargo space was a game changer for me. I went from making 2-3 million an hour to 10-12 million an hour.

I just bought a corvette today, and it was funded by my space cow

Well, I've had the maiden voyage and I got it through the mailslot at both ends without issue. And I kinda like the fact it's big and cumbersome - reminds me of my Volvo.
