The achievement, which has to be acknowledged, is that this has been done by a private company.
A state financed enterprise, such as NASA can always fill the American press with a load of patriotic polemics to justify why tax revenue should not be spent of the American homeless, American education, American health.
A private company must demonstrate a clear prospect of success adn profit or its shareholders will simply walk away.
