Spacelegs, NPC wingmen and The Krait

Who else feels that these additions would lift the game a couple of notches?
I feel that these will make the game interesting again.
We also need to see and be able to pick up corpses in space and retrieve escape capsules. Which can be sold on the slave market or bartered about to release high ranking personel or rich people.
And why not let ships in SC travel in convoys. Eksample Diplomat with escort or freighter with escort. Pirate gang in a group. And this information pops up on the HUD when you target them and scan.
All I see is an orb flying. Make it interesting with information pop ups.
NPC wingmen which evolve and are persistent. Demand higher wages and rise in rank and want new gear and ships. As you get attached to your ship you get attached to your wing man.
When you play a game and need to groom and nurture something. You come back. Send your wingmen on missions with risks and rewards.

What do you think? Plz debate.
 
Search and rescue was mentioned as a 2.4 feature at Lavecon. So we should be set for things to do with escape pods.

Convoys in supercruise would be good for immersion. We regularly see groups of NPCs in normal space, it only makes sense that they would also be in groups while travelling.

I'm hopeful that we'll get NPC wingmen sooner or later. I suspect that part of the reason we don't is to make winging up with players more attractive. But it would be a hugely beneficial addition to the game for what I'd expect to be relatively little development time compared to other major features.

Employ NPC crew that you can see walking around your ship and base, pay them a weekly wage and have them run missions or escort you etc
Sign up with the Empire or Feds and have a real military career, be stationed aboard a capital ship as a fighter pilot wing commander style or a dropship pilot taking foot soldiers and equipment to planets to fight the Thargoids

The possibility's are endless ...be the reality is they cant even make the HUD Blue on a console so... [noob]
 
I`m all for those things, especially NPC crew and wingmen. But I think I want to see quality of life improvements first and foremost.

Yeah, but :
Space legs - Takes time to make, in doubt, try to make it yourself, you'll see...
Atmospheric planets - Same here,
Our own base on a moon or space where we can walk around all our ships - Improbable, you would get flooded areas (like Sol) quickly...
Employ NPC crew that you can see walking around your ship and base, pay them a weekly wage and have them run missions or escort you etc - Why would you play with other people if you could hire an NPC ? FDev wants us to play with each other, not to Solo the whole game...

You get the Idea, all these changes could sound good on the paper, but right now they are not needed nor mandatory for the game to be good or interesting, and need time to be made. If you do not agree, go and make them, then we'll talk...
And as i tend to say pretty often : "ED is about space, not planets, nor legs", these are cosmetic addition, these would be cool, but are NOT necessary, nor mandatory...

npc wingmen however i am desperate for and was expecting them on or around launch.
 
Walking around - if there is compelling gameplay created around it which is available from day one, yes. If there is just a crap-tier FPS created around it and the ability to stand in my Python's cargo bay looking at a crate, nope.

NPC wingmen. Depends really. Could be fun but it would depend entirely on the actual implementation and after seeing what multi-crew became compared to the original suggestions (how are you enjoying that engineering role?) then although I don't doubt that FDev could code it, I do wonder what kind of timescale we'd be looking at.

The Krait - as with any other ship, only if it fills a niche which is currently unfilled. From my recollection it was a small ship with two guns. Are we really short of small ships with limited firepower? I'd say not.

Edit: Oh and two words. Panther Clipper. :D

NPC wingmen is what I wanted to see for a long time now. We have fighters, sure, but there's nothing for the people who don't have the money or the desire to fly one of the ships that can hold them. I mean, most of them are space bricks, and not everyone likes those. But knowing FDev, I can imagine that the feature would be incredibly limited. Still, one can hope, and something might be better than nothing.

After the space flowers and that you cant kill them with ordinary weapons. Ive been thinking. Who is making ideas for this game? I like the alien stuff about the Thargoids its interesting, but il guess we will see how it works out.
Diversity is always good in a game. The more you can do the better it is. I like statistics and for things to be persistent. Where you can follow up something and it adds to the wholeness. Creating depth and immersive gameplay.
Its lacking in E.D So with adding space legs, atmospheric landings, NPC wingmen, escape capsules from ships and building bases we will have an awesome game on our hands. If Frontier could also add a skin creator to create unique stuff for our in game stuff it would be great. If its possible port the game over to dedicated servers and scrap the network solution they have now and we can create clans and bigger communities. Well, im thinking big. Frontier should to. Well enough about crazy dreams :)
A new bigger SRV would also be great to accompany you to scoop up lost cannister and salvage from planets. If you have a big ship which can take this in its cargo hull. Scan the planet for crash sites then fly from place to place picking up loot. Search and rescue missions where you can repair damaged ships with a repair crew and then fly the ship to a base or either use it or sell it.
Well there are endless possibilities. I still have faith in Frontier. I love the shop on the homepage where you can create your clothes with your own patches.
