SpaceX *is* a corporation though. :p But yes, it's great to see the beginning of what we can do in space without the government holding us back.

They seem to be a very "un-corporate" corporation, though.
They kind of remind me of Mass Effect's Cerberus organization. Dedicated to advancement of human race, no matter what. :)

It is nice to see that things all went as planed this time.

It is also nice to see that they are still sticking with tradition and spending hundreds of millions of dollars, just to lift fuel, off of the ground.

Someone invent the hydrogen fusion power plant, already. I want to see a T9 Heavy in my lifetime.

There has been to much time and money invested in the current systems, to admit defeat.

As you said; the patents are already out there, but like the car industry; until tax incentives were offered, they still continued to grind out combustion engines and said the electric car was not possible. Now less than a decade after they were forced to find an alternative, Hybrids and electric cars are everywhere.
