Hardware & Technical spec for Horizons

After seeing the spec info required for Horizons, I have decided to build a gaming P.C. I am going to use the i5 quad core processor and the 8gb Ram from my Packard bell mini tower and chuck the rest. So I am going for using my existing hard drive ( 450gb ) and install a SSD. Put in a R9 280 graphics card with power supply and a new motherboard ( this one is mini board ). A bigger case is required as the graphics card is too big for this case.
Then of course I will have to reinstall windows, grrrrr.

1) I don't have any experience with all this but could someone let me know if this would run Horizons at above average spec ?

2) Will I be able to download Elite again without having to pay for another copy ?

I don't have the Beta so I have a few weeks before Horizons comes out, which I have pre-ordered.

What resolution will you be using? The 280 is above the minimum spec for horizons but below the recommended. In other words, it will work fine, but you might have to run on lower graphics settings if running at very high resolutions. Are you intending on going down the VR route in the future? Another possible thing to consider.

Please make sure you buy a decent brand of PSU, don't just buy based on wattage or price.

EDIT: once you have decided on the build for your system you could post it and then forum members could review and provide advice on your choice of components etc.

Yes you can download the game again without paying for another copy.
