So in the wee hours of the morning, an idea hit me. I feel like it's very possible it's been mentioned before; and if it has, I have at least one person to back me up on it. Picture it: "Special Access Points"(a working title for now)!
My idea is for some sort of of staff-operated entry point where it would cost a premium/task performed by a guest to access. With technology now, it might not even have to be manned by staff, but could be a simple turnstile or gate. Gaining access could probably be done by either purchasing access then and there, at kiosks around the park, having a certain level of admission/ticket or purchasing/obtaining certain object. This is all based on speculation of what is to come, and the awesome, but relatively experience we have but alpha, but i feel some of the uses for it could include:
- Main Entrances: it's kind of a given, but with the psuedo-entrances we have now in alpha, it'd have that more realistic feel that guests are entering a park. There's some sort of gratification about being greeted by a staff member and possibly walking through a turnstile or gate of some sort.
- Serving as a Shortcut: I know this opens the door to Fastpass and shorter waits, so why not think about it! It could be a work around towards having two dedicated queues that we could imagine in our minds. It could allow people with special access to get from point A to Point B in a way faster than the scenic route. Which leads to...
- Special Events/Premium Experiences: Before a certain area of your park opens, you might not necessarily want to open the floodgates to all of your guests (for what reason, I'm not totally sure, but having that power is nice to have). Or maybe you just want to make some of your guests (who can afford it) to feel extra special.
- The Possibilities are Endless : No really they are. I'm leaving up most of the thinking up to you guys at this point, from what I've seen, we're all a collectively creative bunch; you'll all probably come up with some awesomeness on your own to use this feature.
I was thinking this could probably be integrated into the building interface as it could be customizable and probably somehow worked into it by the awesome folks at Frontier. Having that options to be manned by an individual or being automated could bring different dynamics to your park. It could be a one shot thing, or maybe a pass that guests can reuse throughout their stay. It'd kind of be similar to the idea people have had of staff-only pathways, but with a toll-like way to access it. In the end, if there's no logic behind it, it'll be a great cash grab that can help fund your creative theme parks...
I'm sure if we get a conversation going on here, there will be awesome suggestions to fine-tune this process/asset. [yesnod] Questions, comments, contributions and concerns are encourages as the cohesiveness of this post may vary from what my half-awake-eye-goggles may be seeing right now. [blah][woah][where is it][hehe][weird][shocked]
