Going to reiterate what a few others have said - Patrick is one of the nicest guys on the forum (and as has already been mentioned, not a native English speaker) and there is no way in hell that he was posting that as a 'thinly veiled attempt to be condescending'. I've never seen him make a post that would fit that description, nor do I expect that I ever will. You're flat-out wrong.
Nothing in this post is tough to understand. The question was asked yesterday and the question was answered yesterday.
Why even post at all when the thread was concluded? Go to bat for him if you want. It sounded condescending so I called it out as such.
If Im wrong, Im wrong. He could speak up for himself if he was inclined to. Just " You read my post wrong", is enough.
Believe it or not I do not keep a running diary of who is who around here.
Besides this thread is buried already if he hadn't answered an already closed thread. Everyone saying, "Zajo you're such a meanie!", is just keeping this thread going.
