Engineers Special Effects vs NPCs

Do any of the weapon special effects that target ship "internals" (or heat?) affect NPCs?

Meaning ones such as:

thermal shock
thermal cascade
scramble spectrum
reverberating cascade
penetrator payload
dazzle shell
dispersal field
high yield shield

I recall reading a while back that thermal shock was ineffective.

Sorry if this is rehashing old ground, but did a forum search and couldn't find it (at least the first dozen pages).
 
I can confirm that scramble spectrum, penetrator payload, and thermal shock do not work on NPC (no internal damage to npc). High Yield and thermal cascade (the one that hurts shield cell banks) I can confirm work.
 
I can confirm that:
- scramble spectrum
- reverberating cascade
- feedback cascade
Have significant effect on NPC's. The other effects had in my experience no effect on NPC's that would be worth to mention or even noticeable.
So better don't waste them in PvE but maybe other cmdrs have a different experience :|
 
Do you get any kind of feedback that the special effects has worked on the target ship with scramble spectrum VJ?

the most usual kind of feedback for scamble spectrum is a cargo hatch malfunction of the npc. also recognizable is a thruster malfunction.
 
I recently have stopped using specials on modded weapons and have barely noticed any difference in taking down NPC,if anything it just adds a small amount more time per kill.

I ended up with the thermal shock effect by chance on a beam laser I'm using.

I "seem" to be noticing NPC's firing more heatsinks when I'm shooting them.

No before/after data to support.
