Special seasonal goods

Do you think that it is worthwhile for FD to introduce special seasonal goods like pine trees being sold on Christmas at a few religious run systems or towels sold around this time of year to commemorate Douglas Adams and towel day or maybe discounted drives at some tech systems to celebrate the inventors birth or a special imperial wine for the anniversary of the emperor's coronation or pointy ears to remember Mr Spocks birthday?
What other special items do you want to see on sale and when?

These could be viable when/if we get walking in stations/planets. Until then, I doubt it's anything that would be worthwhile. The costs would be pitiful and nobody would bother buying them (most likely) unless they could see/use them in some way.

It could be good. Limited time only though. For example Easter Eggs only on Easter Sunday. One day only. Though this might have an impact on people in different time zones.

it could be interesting especially if some seasonal items only appeared as missions like deliver this valentines card etc but yes trade would be better when you have to do some transactions face to face.

Either it appears on the list for 24 hours so that everyone gets a chance to buy the goods or if they update the server once a week then only make it available for two runs per person to stop those professional players doing all the runs while allowing the more casual player the chance to participate if life gets in the way of doing the run on that special day like trying to make a special delivery for santa on Christmas day.

I like the idea of having seasonal Rare goods that become highly sought after for about a week, then go away again.

Make them work just like regular Rares, except they're available in larger quantities - much like the current higher availability of Diso Ma Corn.

So as not to take players by surprise, there could be CGs in the run-up to these holidays to supply raw materials or security to the system producing the goods, with the success of the CG determining prices and/or availability.

I'd prefer 'seasonal' being tied to the system producing the goods rather than a religious event based on the Sol-centric galactic calendar. Somewhere, any plant will be in season without the need for artificial growing environments at one of the dozens/hundreds of suitable planets. All that would change would be the main points of export. Some systems will have planets with summers lasting years and others having ones of a few months (like Sol). We would see a galactic/regional fluctuation of availability for different items and this should affect the prices in the wider economy.

This doesn't have to apply just to plants, either. Imagine an extraction economy planet which mines the biggest landmass. At some point that landmass suffers a dramatic icy winter which hampers the extraction process or even prevents it entirely. Pick any product and alter the scenario accordingly and you'll see that we currently have a very black & white, near static, economy system in place, where only traders really have any effect upon it.
