Curiosity has sent toward the Earth this weekend, spectacular new images of the region called "Murray Buttes" at the foot of Mount Sharp

These stones look like they've been eroded by sand storms. Wonder how severe the weather gets there. Not that I'm looking for a vacation destination :)

Yep, they do look interesting. Not a geologist but I don't think I've seen anything like that on Earth, they look a bit too sharp around the edges which probably doesn't happen on our orb due to our more extreme weathering.

Looks like some sort of sedimentary rocks, like slate? Minus the typical humid environment based erosion. This is just wind and heat.

Also, the moon is a hollowed out space ship.

Yep, definitely sedimentary, probably proves again that Mars did, once have a wet climate. It would be awesome if they could get a date from these to see when they were laid down.
