Speculated Ancient Ruins Bubble - The Rhatigan Theory (unconfirmed.. *yet*)

Greetings, fellow explorers!

I have a theory (The Rhatigan Theory, because I'm self-centered and narcissistic) for finding the densely populated center of the alien 'bubble'.

The origin of this theory is from the recent update from Professor Melville on Galnet News (link: https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/uid/589db33015ac1c292f68b825).

"Melville thinks there could be hundreds of sites out there. His hypothesis is that the Guardians occupied an area of space similar in size to that currently inhabited by humans, but that for some reason they were forced to migrate. He believes he can find that region of space and the Guardians' point of origin.
The Guardians could well have had a huge civilization, with hundreds of sites – maybe thousands – in this part of space."

So I figured.. maybe we're thinking about finding these ancient ruins the wrong way. Maybe.. the most simple possibility is what the devs want us to consider?

The factors I took in while working on this theory are below:
1. The aliens supposedly have a bubble, similar in size to that of the humans
2. We've found 9 systems that have ruins (either found by the community or listed in Melville's log)
3. I plotted these known locations and determined an approximate 'bubble' boundary
4. Much like our human bubble, it would make sense that the density of ancient ruins would be much higher closer to the center of this bubble
5. The community found most sites pretty close to civilized space (one edge of the alien bubble), and the devs released 3 systems recently to help our discoveries (the other edge of the alien bubble)

The three systems are:
1. HIP 38689
2. SYNUEFE VH-I B43-8
3. SYNUEFE WL-J D10-105

*EDIT* - Possible Center System (or close to..):
HIP 36823

See the image below I was working off of (updated to exclude COL 173 SECTOR KY-Q D5-47 as size of bubble suggests this is an outlier):
Alien Bubble V2.png

Using my notes in the key, you can see that I drew a large ellipse around what I believe to be the entire alien bubble based on what systems we currently know (circled in yellow). Then, a blue inner-ring around what should be the more heavily populated alien bubble. Finally, I went searching there and found 3 systems that I believe could potentially house a high concentration of ruins.

I chose those systems based on the fact that they all:
1. Contain a large amount of UNDISCOVERED bodies (you would think previous explorers would have got them all.. perhaps the devs recently added these undiscovered bodies for this mission???)
1.a - I have now claimed them, but they were undiscovered as of this morning :p
2. Have multiple stars within the system
3. Have asteroid belts
4. Have at least one pair of bodies orbiting eachother
5. Clumped within 50LY of eachother
6. All fall within the green ellipse of what might be the densely populated alien bubble
7. Have SEVERAL landable bodies

Now, these similarities might not all prove anything.. but I did find the coincidences interesting. It would make sense that this area is the center of the alien bubble based on what we currently know, and that the devs might have given us the new 3 systems in the Melville update to 'gently push us' in the right direction. If there really are hundreds, if not thousands, of ruins sites.. wouldn't it be likely that they're clumped in the center, just like how human space is more dense at the middle?

A few more things to mention:
- I can't possibly search all of these myself, which is why I've come to this forum to recruit some explorers who might want to operate based purely on faith/theory :)
- I didn't post this in the mega-thread, because for now, this is all speculation.. but I just have a good feeling about it and want to solidify my findings
- Any confirmed sites found will surely be shared in the mega-thread, this is just a side-operation to try and find the center of alien space
- If you do want to help, please choose one of the systems and post which body you want to start searching, just so we can efficiently spread out our efforts (how cool would it be finding one huge mega-ruin?!)

EDIT 1: I added HIP 39768 (thx Heracles421), and removed COL 173 SECTOR KY-Q D5-47, as it looks like it could be an outlier based on the other systems. I also pinpointed the system that appears to be at the direct center (thus far) as HIP 36823.

Make your first post a good one. That's what I always say.

Don't mind me, I'm just subscribing to your thread.

Excellent work CMDR

Good work! However I do have a question for you, how big is the bubble you drew, compared to the human bubble?

It's just shy of 600LY, which human space is closer to 400ish, so yes, a bit larger, but those at the furthest points could be outliers. I do think Frontier gave us those 3 new systems for a reason though!

I wouldnt read too much into them having lots of undiscovered bodies as I was out in the area before 2.2 and as you got out towards the Col 173 sector there were alot of undiscovered systems. I put it down to the fact that before the release of Guardians there was not much of interest out that way.

I do agree with you about the new systems being close to the centre of the Guardian Bubble, but if we travel a bit further along we come accross the Permit Locked Regor Sector which is another candidate if the Guardian Expansion was rather than being ovoid or spherical was in one direction from a single point.

The proximity of the Regor Sector to Guardian space makes me think that when it is unlocked it will tie into the Guardians in some way in, if not having Guardian presence itself perhaps being linked to the cause of their disappearance.

A final note which may or may not be significant I found that when I was out in the area during the time of the Guardians Beta several of the B class stars (mainly HIP systems) in Col 173 could not be entered as I kept getting server errors but in the Beta they could be entered with no issues so its possible these systems have some Guardian bases in them.

I updated the image and my OP is gone? I'm new here so might just need to get the edit approved.. sorry for anyone who comes here late to the party, it'll hopefully be back soon! :(

Luckily exgoaltender quoted your post so it's possible to read it. The fact that the op is missing adds to the mistery. Your theory looks promising...

With over 100 sites confirmed now, and the farthest [that I know of] being 12k ly away - SKAUDAI AM-B D14-138 - It seems that this theory may need tweaking. :)

Nonetheless, i do love reading this kind of post... +1 for the OP. :)
