Speculation on Stock coasters and interchangeable trains

Heyo!

I wanted to speculate a bit about the Interchangeable trains and stock coasters.
In planet coaster 1 every train had to come with it's own ride. Thats why the Wendigo and Dragon junior coasters were 2 different rides even if the track was the same. The same applies to Luna cars, Sleighride, Magic Katz and countless other examples.
Later on we got the ability to swap trains on certain tracks but in essence there was always a 1 train to 1 ride relation.

Upon the release of Planet Coaster 2 I noticed that in most cases we now have only 1 out of the multiple variations :
- Dragon coaster but not Wendigo
  • Luna cars but no Sleigride or Magic Katz
  • Iron Horse but no Connie Express
  • Land Ahoy but no Island Adventure
  • etc

I wondered if this was just coincidence? Or did we only get 1 version because the other train / car would be added later as a train variation instead of an entire new ride?

Last week we got the Roadmap and it appears we get stock coasters, which means unthemed trains/cars that you can fully decorate yourself. In Planco 1 style this would mean we get a lot of new coasters because we get new trains. But then again, but we are also getting Interchangeable trains in the same update? Just coincidence? Ofcourse I can be totally wrong but is there a chance the new Stock Coasters wont be entire new rides but simple a new train?
If true, we can potentially get new train variations (new and from the past) on our existing rides. Potentially even download trains from the workshop?

Again pure speculation, and soon we will find out more. What's your opinion?

I would assume to get stock trains/cars to decorate them (or not) and a workshop section to download themed trains/cars from (maybe some new designs made by Frontier, too). I have no idea where they would intregrate the train/car selection to a ride (new tab?).

Those dwnloads from the workshop could fit to "interchangable", if they aren't thinking about different trains from other coasters...

I also took it to mean trains from other coasters.
But now you mention it...
It could also mean transfer tracks? Interchangable as in add and remove trains in real time? But i think this is the furthest stretch.

Yeah no, i don't think they mean transfer tracks. That would be worthy of its own Bulletpoint in the Announcement. I interpreted the "interchangable Trains" as Vampiro suggested, for example The Wendigo, the Dragon and the Slimer Coaster were all essentially the same Train, but themed differently. But instead of having three different Coasters to place down, you would be able to pick the style of Train you want. Like we were able to do in RCT3.

Yes,

And for the time being it might mean we will be able to switch existing trains to certain existing tracks. With the introduction of Stock Coasters I hope (fingers crossed) the new stock coasters will not be entire new coasters but simply be selectable trains for the existing rides.

If that is the case, it also opens up possibilities to add trains from Planco 1. (Wendigo, Magic Catz, Sleighride, Ski Lift, Connie Express, etc)

This is what i also understood. I am with Rct-uwe1 on this: Stock coaster should be chooseable trains for some coasters and one of this options has to be neutral. The RMCs and the Junior, come directly to mind, where the coaster train kind of dictates the theming in some way.

If they throw in more looks than the basic looks i would be fine with it, but we really need coasters that aren't themed to anything.
