I was just watching a YouTube video where you get an external view of a ship.
I realized that I have never seen a different implementation of the external camera. They spin around the ship very fast. They spin around a center point.
In Elite, you can unlock the camera and move it freely.
Anyway, my point is, being able to move around a massive object like a giant ship changes the feeling of a ship being massive. Yet, if the camera were to move at foot speed it would seem immense. So, the speed of the camera affects the perception of scale. Interesting.
I know there are some other people here that simply enjoy thinking about stuff like this.
