Speed indicator on targeting reticle?

Would anyone like to see the blue 'best turn speed' indicator appear somewhere up on the windscreen? Maybe as part of the targeting reticle? I know its on the HUD, and all you have to really do is look down and see where your speed is or get a feel for where it is on your throttle. BUT, it might be nice to have a little blue dot/mark/indicator/etc. appear up on the main windscreen when you are chasing a target so you don't have to look away from said target.

Thoughts?

I would very much like to see this. A HUD should show critical information in an organized and uncluttered fashion where the pilot is focusing his attention. Speed is about the most critical aspect of combat in ED, so should be shown near enough to the target reticule to be observed while lining up a shot.

I wouldn't mind a little blue light near the reticule. Head tracking has its downsides as you can end up a long way from the instruments

I agree with you. Unfortunately the Devs don't. The loss of awareness caused by having to look down in the cockpit, causing you to lose your target is actually considered a design feature by FDev, rather than a flaw.

See:

for reasoning on why there isn't 1) a modular hud, 2) big arrows pointing at targets and 3) some elements are off screen rather than up front (where they should be IMHO :) ).
