General / Off-Topic Spelling: Griefed.

And it grieves me to point this out, but we also have a ship called an Asp ... not an ASP. It's a snake not an acronym, dammit! :p
 
To be honest, I didn't know that "griefed" was a word. It's not recognised by my spell-checker. I always thought the correct word was "grieved".

It isn't. It's cromulent.

It's usage would be as a neologism. This is a perfectly acceptable practice is the English language.

If a neologism is senseless then it will ususally fall by the wayside.

Yhough I personally and rooting for Tnetennba. It doesn't mean much but it just has that...... something.

Whilst we're on the subject, when did starting a sentence with 'so' become acceptable? I hate it! Actually, there are lots of grammar and spelling abuses which wind me up but this use of 'so' is starting to grind my gears. :mad:
