Engineers Spent the last 4 hours looking for Yttrium

So anyone knows where to find those metallic meteorites (i think this is the problem)? Like a specific place? craters? mountains? what!? I'm sure they are not just random because in some places like flat terrain there are none.
I've studied all tutorials, posts and prospecting docs and i didnt find any clear answer. Nobody really knows where to look for them.

Yttrium can be found on Eranin 6.

Note that each planet has max 1 super-rare element that can be found.

It's not that hard to find if you follow the prospector's gudes. One thing this shows is that the game is only really playable if you crowdsource the "instructions".

Sorry can you enlighten me on the "prospectors guidelines"? Who are you referring to?

Each type of rock you find on a planet has its own signature on your wave scanner. The bronzite chondrite rocks rarely yielded any rare or very rare elements so you can safely ignore them (unless you need the common and very common elements)
I think this should help.

I know the planets, signatures and the percentages, i was asking something else. Where on the x planet could be more of them? Seems like you dont know either.
I tried the ravines and craters, not so many.
So far around mountains seems like theres more of them from my own experience (20 Polonium so far).

Check out the list of barnacles and the materials they yield relating to what's on their planet. Avoid the barnies with the big gun turrets if I were you
.
Click the tabs at the top for more details on each barnie on each planet.

Don't let the shepherd catch you shearing his sheep though.. Someone is probably watching

Lots of polonium and Yttrium etc easily available compared to scouring planet surfaces for metallic meteorites!
.
Best one for Yttrium at the moment:
.
Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2 2
-18.23 -17.35
Intact Spikes x 34
No Defences

I am there atm and switched modes about 4 times and no Yttrium yet.

Lol - just 4 hours? I've never seen Yttrium at all since 2.0. Not sure about Arsenic. Got exactly 2 Ruthenium. Polonium? I think I got one. I haven't played every day, though - I got my fair share of driving around planets for at least 8 hours since 2.1.

I found 1 on Deciat 7B as well, and another in a barnacle before that. So I did the class 4 upgrade in my python and got a mediocre roll. A 14% FSD increase. At least I know my Class 5 roll will be better for sure.

I went with the assumption that small craters would contain more of them (it figures since those are meteorites impacts) but so far it seems that assumption hasn't panned out. I don't find many of them. Gotten 2 polonium and 1 Yttrium so far.

Since I posted this on the other thread about Yttrium, only fair to post it here. But I found 10 Yttrium in about 90 minutes of respawning at this barnacle:

In my search for Yttrium I tried out Achenar 3......

For whatever reason I released my landing pad to early ... and crashed my conda with 500m/s on the ground. I did travel to high G worlds dozens of times and this never happend to me. I never crashed against anything. And now I have lost 22millions in 10 seconds. oh my

Man that sucks !

Don't know if my statement was already postet in this thread as I am not willing to read all comments so far, but commenting on "stupid rare Polonium":
I never found any Polonium while surface prospecting, but I got 2x Polonium just by doing some bulletin board missions! That way I already received Antimon, Germanium, Molybdenum, Ruthenium, Selenium, Arsenic and several times Niobium and Vanadium. The only element missing at the moment is Yttrium. I have no idea if FD made this element available as a mission reward like the others.
Still need Yttrium to improve the FSD range.
