How about doing video rather than wall-o-text. Encorperate it in the news feed. Pay a pretty girl to dress in futuristic threads and read the 'news' in a British accent. Have crosses. Simulated battles. Etc. There is a huge opportunity to break new ground here rather than 'me too' type stuff.
