Most spiders are small and they scurry about. Some can harm you, some can't. They seem to have a one track mind and don't wonder where they are or what they're doing.
My house used to have a lot of spiders, 2 species were poisonous. (Especially wolf spiders, there are so many!) It was the strangest thing today when I spotted a black spider on the counter. I though, "It's probably a black house spider, gonna have to kill it." (Any spider that isn't lethal to humans, could just be poisonous enough to kill a pet) Instead of being static and twitchy, the spider turned around and stared at me. It had four large eyes and twitchy fangs. I would move to the left and it would turn and stare at me. It would back up slowly, but it just watched me. It's really the weirdest thing when a spider meets eyes with you. They seem more attentive than a normal instinctual hunter. Turns out, it was a jumping spider, so not harmful. It was too cold outside so I let it go into a crack in our floor, so it can eat the millipedes and red ants.
I don't like spiders that much, I have no fear of them. But I'd like if every small insect had a red blip they gave off, like a radar, then I'd know where they are at all times. I like tarantulas though.
