Hardware & Technical Spinning ship at start

Hi, I have been unable to work out why the spinning ship at the beginning of the game, does not spin smoothly.
it start spinning smoothly, the stalls for a split second, then goes smooth, then stalls for a split sec.
Is there something i am missing in the setup, or is there some sort of game glitch.

Buying an M.3 hard drive, Intel 79xxK CPU and 32 Gb of memory should help. You can also try defragging your HD the game isinstalled on, switching to a non-beta Windows if you're an Insider, killing any unnecessary tasks, running a lighterweight antivirus... the options are numerous.

It's just a more glorified loading screen.

Basically it's loading stuff, nothing more, nothing less. It'll happen on any system to some extent while the game is loading (more so on lower end systems).

Even on an M.2 PCIE NVMe it does that, except the "stalling" happens less often and the duration is much shorter. Not as bad as running off a standard HDD. I think even if you had oodles of RAM and completely loaded ED into RAM it'd still stall occasionally (32GB of RAM would be enough.. you need about 20GB odd for the RAM Drive or less if you don't even load non-horizons ED, and the remainder for running the game).

I believe that when it is 'stalling', it is loading minor errors. I say this because it did it more in the past and I had silly little issues with the game. Such as; pressing enter, crashes the game to desktop. Or being unable to jump etc..

Which is why, if I see it sticking theses days; I will re-load it, before beginning to play. To me, a smooth loading session, means smooth game play ahead of me.

Interesting thing to try in VR. When the game is loading, press your face (with HMD, of course) towards the spinning ship and see what happens.
