srv truck is generally pointless without surface based mining or some mechanic that specifically forces you to transfer cargo indirectly from a ship to a station.

thargoid concept art is better than the animalistic concept art leaked prior. I think they're too insectoid to be guardians.

Salvation hopefully will drive the thargoids to a full on attack on the core worlds. But the big question is, will fdev allow this attack to actually change anything in the game or are we just going to come out of this with some superficial ...unimportant adjustments and then back to business as usual?

I just dont see them implementing something that reflects a collapse of the bubble

Business as usual, none of this will ever appear in game. Noone gives a toss about Elite at Fdev, they are all busy making F1 management game, which will be a E grade game about an F-tier "sport".

Been on the interceptor-a-day (sometimes more) program.
Missed talking about the intriguing statement that Frontline has been tapped to deliver ships? They usually just drop off mercs.
Haven't seen the art, but then as has been stated, its concept art that may or may not come to anything.

I would love a "guided tour" of FDev's concept- and prototype graveyard for Elite Dangerous (I wonder how large it is...).
All the things that were experimented with, but didn't prove satisfying to play, or too complicated, or whatever may have been their downfall, and were either cancelled, or had elements of them repurposed as part of things that did go through to production, as well unchosen design proposal variants.

Can't promise I would necessarily be able to resist wishing we got something that was rejected, in place of something we did get, though... :p

Here's hoping Thargoids do not turn out bloody humanoids -- I thought the earlier concept with the bulbous head and the hairy knees was perfect -- could see these "new" guys as Guardians, though -- they were supposed to have scissor-y hands, or something, were they not..(?) :7

I don't know, people have been saying the very same thing shortly before space Thargoids appeared in game. Even the 'they abandoned' the game atmosphere was the same (which isn't hard considering that people always talked about the end of the game for the last 8 years). If I remember correctly none of these people ever admitted they were wrong. People also got upset about Frontier developing games.
Obviously on foot Thargoids are going to happen, it's just a matter of time.

Ok, I'm sure someone will offer you an egg in these trying times, so to be different, I'll go use an older Elder Scrolls meme instead:

The sauce you use, of course, is up to you.

You know... I was thinking to myself... there's three major archetypes to the gameplay. Two have their own SRV now. Four if you count mining which is more a hybrid of two. You can certainly kill stuff in Odyssey. You can also do some exploring (I've just started doing that for the first time and... yeah... I'm seeing what the exploration gripers are griping about). But there is no trading of any kind in Odyssey. You basically can deliver packages.

I had these ideas of like, settlements having satellite places, or being splintered across different hubs. You would truck or bike things from one to another. Maybe run blockades, pirates camped out between, that kind of thing. Then I heard there's a third SRV and I thought "Well that's weird. what would it be for?". There is a larger version of the Scarab in crash sites, so I thought maybe it's that. But you can't really trade. So what would be the point? I immediately thought of an AX SRV.

I think the fact that it's on artstation could just as easily mean it's not secret anymore because it's gone. Could have been a mining SRV. But I think SRV #3 is probably an AX SRV.
