As far as Cutters go. Those weren't exactly good shields. So it didn't take much to knock them out in this case.

Its what happens when you substitute armour for cargo racks. Those greedy greedy traders.

I'm guessing that was a stock 6A without any boosters solely for the purposes of preventing docking scrapes. It isn't much use for anything else!

From what I can see, you totalled his shields with 30 individual 4A MC rounds at ~200 effective damage against shields and 3 3B Plasma shots at 320 absolute damage. My trader isn't Open-worthy, because even engineered the shields are only 1200MJ or so, but I'm surprised a stock 6A was this bad.

I'm making the assumption both MCs are G5 overcharged.
