Spontaneous 'allied' with every minor faction

Hello there,

After a while of not playing, i decided to come back to the Elite universe. Before my break i did some missions for the empire to rank up, until i became 'Lord'. Now that i started playing more regularly, i tried to rank up to Baron so i can get the Clipper. But now it is getting strange. I somehow seem to be allied with every empirial minor faction, no matter how far i travel. That seems odd to me. The other problem is that i don't get any more naval ascension missions. Is this normal, or a bug and correlated with my problem to rank up?

Everything around naval ranking seems broken right now, I'd leave it for a while.

Are you now allied with the major Empire faction because doing so automatically Allies you with all the minor factions (from my experience). Their own "status" isn't shown until you loose the allied status with the major faction, however, but you can still increase this hidden value to keep getting naval missions.
Basically the best way is to keep a list of factions you've allied to and use that instead of the in game options.

Edit: although yes, there are problems at the moment as Ancipital says, best to leave it a bit

Thanks for your answer. Yes i am allied with the major Empire faction. Is this a new feature of the Power Play update or did i just not mention it before, that all minor factions became allied?
I hope they fix this rank up thing soon. I'm very looking forward to do some legit piracy with a shine black Clipper

Think it was like this before but it is something I think could do with an info screen, like on the system status showing all the factions if it'd say Major faction Allied, subfaction friendly or whatever. Keep it up, the Clipper will come

It has always been that once allied with a major faction you automatically become allied with the minor factions that owe their allegiance to that major faction (unless you really p them off) hasn't it?

when i was grinding empire rep, i remember keeping track of who i was allied with and, if i wasn't, that's who i did missions for. all the way to baron. so i think the "allied with empire = allied with all empire minors" is new and probably not intentional.

unless it takes until you're baron to be allied with the empire, but i doubt that's the case. smells like a bug to me.

I finally did it. Countless missions without hope, but i can call myself Baron now. Strange thing was, that i got three naval ascension missions in a row. The first two had no effect, but the third one worked. We definitely need a progress bar for the navy ranks. This would help so much against headache.

Does anyone have a tip, if there is a discount for the clipper somewhere?
