Astronomy / Space Spooky alignment of quasars

Really nice vindication of the large-scale universal structure of filaments and 'webs' of matter with voids between.
"The team has also found that the rotation axes of these quasars tend to be aligned with the vast structures in the cosmic web in which they reside."
So there is a clear indicator that the grandest scales of the the distribution of matter and therefore gravity and magnetism affect the starting spins on aggregating stuff.
I guess if the matter in a random cloud of stuff has *any* initial momentum or preferred rotational direction, based on gravity or magnetic fields, no matter how weak, this would give a preferered axis on which to begin an orbiting acretion disk. Over time that small but steady influence would add up and scale up to the galactic-axis , which in turn would end up being the preferred axis of the quasar.

Don't know why its described as 'spooky' though ( "spooky" is just sensationalism / clickbait by the article writers in my opinion. )

Exactly. It makes perfect sense that they would align that way, since they can. "Spooky" is probably just clickbait.
