Sprinkle Bitcoins in asteroids, and let people mine them!

A friend threw this to me as a flippant comment. But... having thought about it, it actually would be quite good fun.

Imagine Frontier buys X Bitcoins, and seeds fragments of these bitcoins in asteroids throughout the Bubble (to keep them findable....)

Then, you add a new Mineral resource, Bitium, and it'ss weight = fraction of a bitcoin.

If anyone finds any Bitium, they can redeem it for its Bitcoin fragment.

Typical fragments of Bitium might be worth say £10 at current Bitcoin values. But to make things spicy, there could be nuggets out there, worth significantly more, say £300 - £3000.

But in truth, these nugget values are simply a function of the nuggets bitcoin size say 0.1 = 1.0 of a Bitcoin for a large nugget.

Frontier would recover the costs of these Bitcoins they have to dole out, by (I would presume) greater player up-take and also the PR value of it.

Im sure many new players would join, in the gold rush.

Even better, it would actually make mining into a relevant career in ED, and the finding of a nugget in a system could lead to gold-rush like scenarios and all that would entail.

I guess some skill would be required for this feature, otherwise, this could be classed as gambling, if its pure like to find....
