Unforeseen Consequences
That is a wonderful story TJ. Those kids will remember that for the rest of their lives and who knows, perhaps it will inspire them to go much further themselves later on in life.
Frontier Developments take note: influencing young minds can have unforeseen consequences if you happen to release a title that JUST HAPPENS to accurately model space flight dynamics!
Imagine your kids getting an astronomy or space flight lesson where the teacher begins by firing up a copy of a "game" to show them how and why things do happen the way they actually do when leaving the Earth's atmosphere.......

That is a pretty cool story. I do wonder if the problem with interest by young people in math and science isn't more with the way those subjects are taught, rather than with the subjects themselves.
Heck, I grew up in a home with a middle school algebra teacher for a mom so I can appreciate the problems inherent in the system, but those kind of outside of the box educational tracks probably work really, really well.
