o7 commanders! Long time player, but rare poster. As the title says, I'm looking for a squadron for those living with Huntington's Disease, as well as one allowing family members in. HD is something very close to my heart, as my cousin Jacky Duane Poe had HD. He LOVED anything to do with space and sci fi - Star Trek, Star Wars especially - and I have no doubt that were he still with us he and I would be teaming up in E
. In 1993 he went into the U.S. Navy. He served up in Norfolk, VA where Huntington's started taking its' toll on him.... he'd start missing appointments, and other stuff that comes with early HD but I can't think of right off. I mainly remember him missing appointments. So needless to say h e wasn't in there very long. What absolutely kills me is how SMART his mind always was, even right before he passed. Guys...... this man was in the freaking NUCLEAR program!!! Sadly, he passed away in 2011. On a side note, I'm in process of making a hacking style simulation that aims to show others how HD breaks down the brain body connections. In game, the player will eventually start getting messages from Jacky from beyond the grave..... think the movie Frequency. I'd LOVE to use names of real people that served with him, but no luck on that front.
Anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction for a squadron, I'd greatly appreciate it!!!!! And if not, I'll just eventually make my own. Thanks, & God Bless! See you in the black.
