Squadron-linked PMFs really appearing in every colonized system far away?

Hi there

I'm thinking to try my first colonization. I'm member of a squadron with an associated PMF. This PMF would be around 100 ly away from the system to be colonized. Now I've found this Elite Dangerous Wiki entry:

The factions that appear when the System is first established are:

• The controlling faction in the system where the architect placed the claim using a Contact
• The second-placed faction in that system
• The faction associated with the architect's Squadron
• A random Anarchy faction from the claiming system

So would my PMF really magically jump over a gap of 100 ly? Can you confirm this?

The Wiki is wrong about which factions appear, but this bit does work like that.

https://inara.cz/elite/minorfaction/77740/ is the faction which was placed in charge of Explorer's Anchorage near Sag A*. Using this mechanism, it's been added to colony systems in and around the Orion Nebula, about 27,000 LY away.


The actual system appearance is:

• The controlling faction in the system of the station where the architect placed the claim using a Contact
• The second-placed faction in that system A random faction from that system or a nearby one
• The faction associated with the architect's Squadron if applicable and not already in the system, otherwise another random nearby faction
• A random Anarchy faction from the claiming system or another nearby system
