"Squadrons" manages to save the day - our first success with our new in game tools

Hutton Orbital Truckers were eagerly awaiting the new squadrons facilities, with in-game communication for co-ordinating events and fun being a key part of boosting participation and PwP gaming.

The squadron is relatively busy now - enough that there's a critical mass of commanders online at any time.

One of our BGS team was running a few collect missions to Alpha Centauri, loaded up on weapons for the ongoing war when an alert went out on squadron chat of the order of "mayday, mayday, being interdicted by a pair of anacondas and a fer de lance". He avoided the first interdiction, received a wing request from a commander in the squadron and we had 3 ships there in time to not only rescue him, but actually managed to beat the in-system security forces to the instance and kick botty on his behalf!

So - great job, Frontier - there are some rough edges, but it's having the desired effect of getting commanders to start working together on things. Thanks....

It's definitely proving a lot more effective than the, until now, traditional way of pleading for help via FB or discord and hoping to God someone sees it at some point....

I think it’s more a matter of having a critical mass of CMDRs in an area and reliable comms.

A few years back, I nearly triggered a diplomatic incident when a couple of wings of AD CMDRs turned up at our home station.
I was in a T6 back in the day, and called for some backup.

In short order there were ten of our combat ships sitting outside the toast rack polishing their guns.

I get the feeling, but I reckon it’s more having a home and some buddies and a good line of comms.

Don't forget that you can share bookmarks through the Squad hub (they appear all the way down at the bottom of your bookmark list, with a special icon next to it).
That's a very efficient way to make waypoints and easy accessible POI etc.
