Squadrons ranking is not balanced

This ranking should be balanced according of numbers of pilots in each squadron, actually, big squadrons are always on top ranking, unfair.

There are lots of issues with how points are assigned, but I don't think there's much wrong with larger squadrons being able to do more stuff.

I guess different boards for different 'weight classes' could be a thing, but... I honestly don't know a single person who cares about the rankings in the slightest, including some who regularly top it. Not saying nobody cares, but given it has no bearing on the game either mechanically or in lore it's relatively easy to ignore.

How dare you Sir, my squad is consistently last and we are proud of that :)

The existence of 1 person squadrons was cited as one of the reasons Carriers turned out to be personal assets.

So yea, guess the OP got confused along the way

If you want to discuss imbalance in the squadron leaderboards, last time I checked the number of points you get for AX combat contributions is based on your payout after multipliers and not the initial amount earned, so powerplay pledges for certain powers at rank 5 get a hefty multiplier to their leaderboard position for the same amount of work. Likewise, having a pilot on retainer hits you in the rankings and not just the pocket.

Not in exploration, Trading or Combat, maybe in Thargoids

Now that you mention, i do remember of a debate where a squadron with basically a single active axi pilot managed to pull some really incredible numbers and foul play was hinted (as usually when hard-to-believe things happens).
Just saying.. .for academic / anecdote reasons

i'm pretty sure we've had small Squads getting the top spot before, but Ian will remember :)
A one person squad (well, a player and their alt) got CQC Gold.
We got 5th on Trade once basically on the strength of two players who really liked mining (and only had 20 total, anyway). Could have got a trophy easily if we'd had a third miner, it was so close 3rd-5th.
I know one person who managed to get a Political trophy basically single-handed (though there were more members in the squad)
Certainly been a couple of top-10 Exploration finishes by single-player squadrons. Can't remember if any got as high as a trophy.

When it comes down to it, there's over 20,000 active squadrons competing on the most contested 3 squadrons (Trade, Exploration, Combat). Almost all of them are below ten players in size. If you're not coming reasonably close to winning now, you'd also not be winning if you only had to compete against the small ones either.

I assumed there were cases :) I know our (large-ish) squad won Explo because 1 player said 'I have a lot of data - shall we go for it?'. He did the majority of the work.

That’s a whole lotta squadrons! Our squadron is small, fairly casual and for the last few months has been fairly quiet, but initially (as is often the case I imagine) there was a flurry of activity shoring up and establishing our little supported PMF commune; I remember checking the squadron page mid-week early on and being amazed that we were reasonably high for Trade I think it was, can’t remember the exact position but I think the highest we achieved was within the top 50 or so which was mind-blowing at the time! I guess there was a bunch of us mining and running cargo missions, with no view to ranking just helping our PMF influence out. I imagine with a bit of effort at the right time anything is possible!
