SRV can not be restocked after self-destruct, you'll have to sell/by-back the SRV bay to fix.

I was trying to gather engineering materials at the crashed anaconda, I got stuck and couldn't move, so I self destructed.
I flew to the near by Station to Restock. I am sure everyone has seen the 10 CR restock bug by now, well this is new.
I did a Restock All, and flew off. Got back to the crash site and what had no SRV, WHAT? Ohhh... Kaayyy... I thought restock refilled destroyed SRVs,
Fine, lifted off, flew back to the base, had around 1030 CR restock, OK, SERVER ERROR, fine, I went into outfitting, SRV says [DESTROIED] fine, tried to buy a new one,
No can do, "Already Fitted." Stored the SRV bay and re-fitted it. Nope.... -.-
So, if you trash your SRV, your stuck without one. I don't care to buy a new bay because I shouldn't have to. (didn't even bother to check if they even carry them, and I am not going to go hunt one down. This is stupid.

edit: TL;DR, Fix for if you run into this:
You will need a station with an outfitters and maybe sell SRV bays.
Sell the SRV bay, then do a Buy-Back. (not buy a new one, buy your old one back for same? cost.)
Buy a new SRV. (even though it's more expensive then a restock seems to have been.

end edit. Returning to rant.....

So, I am done for now, My only tasks at hand were to get more engineers unlocked, because I need them to get further with other tasks like combat. But, this is a deal breaker, What in this update even touched the SRV?????!!!??? If your gonna bug the SRV, you could at least do it by providing more types.... can we get a roll back of pre-April update, there wasn't anything in this update that was worth this many bugs. I can read the PDF if I needed to look up something in the manual, which is not needed, and I can fly the ship my self, thank you very much, Just leave me that extra slot and we are good. You can even put the UI back, because the new one is bugged out as well, and I would love more then 10 frames a second around a corriois (sp?) station again... that would be nice. A rollback at this point would feel like an upgrade.....

There is a thing called craftsmanship. You know it when you see it. Say, a woodworker, you can tell a master from a beginner, even if you know NOTHING about that person, because it shows in the work. A beautiful crafted wood sculpture shows a master of the arts made it, A sculpture crafted that is indistinguishable from a dung pile even if the beginner artist was trying to make a same item as the master shows. Chipped pieces, cut parts, unpolished, it shows. that is this update. It shows!! It shows that no craftsman had a hand in doing this update. The guys who wrote the game, at least up to Horizons were artisans, masters at their craft, the people doing the maintenance are not, because it shows, it's not opinion, it's fact. the 10 CR bug, what, how does that get past your testers and UI team? Or it even be permitted to get this far without a hot fix, and that's one of many.

I'm pretty sure every station stocks cargo racks and SRV bays.

Have you ever tried coding? When my programs reach tens of thousands of lines, I start to get fuzzy on some of the details. I imagine ED is comprised of millions of lines of code, with dozens of people making changes. Some time is required to work out the kinks.

Ask how many lines of code went into the star forge.
Peeps still think this game could be played offline.
Dream on. lil campers.

I guess what gets me is, Fdev has a history of leaving bugs for months or in some cases, years, at a time without a fix.

Do a search on a the Skimmer bug for example, that particular bug was a "fix" for certain kinds of player "activity", and it created a bug that would get your ship destroyed trying to land at a planetary base. You would think that a bug like that would be higher on the TODO list since they accidentally created it..... You'd be wrong.

It wasn't the bug that was the issue, it was the fact that it was well documented and was in the game for over 6~8 months. Even videos were made on how to land at a base in a big ship as to not get hit by it. Yet, the bug remained.

That's the part that concerns me. I know one bug this April Update actually fixed, and that bug was in the game since 2016. (2.4 patch introduced it.) No Kidding. So, don't crash your SRVs, no telling when you'll get that fixed.

Well, you'd need outfitting and an they would have to sell SRV bays, and you'd I guess have to sell your old one and buy a new one? I wonder if I sold it and did a buy back?
Let me try that....

edit:

Well, s***t, that worked. Sell it, Buy it back, and you can purchase a new SRV. (which you'd have to do anyway.)
Fine, I guess you can only restock SRVs where there are outfitters. But this site had bays for sale, so I don't know if you can do that where they are not.
Sell Price: 20,093 By back price, 18,954..? idk, I had the same number of credits after the purchase, so, another bug?
Anyhow, the restock value was 1030 (I guess minus the 10 CR bug.) so, 1020 restock, 5,139 for a new SRV, so,

It works, but the SRVs are now 5x more expensive, and the station must have an outfitters, and maybe sell SRV bays.

Did you try to resupply under Advanced Maintenance? I know that allows individual weapons to be resupplied, not so sure about SRVs...

(ofc still needs a bug report, once that site is back online...) damn that site has weird caching issues

Edit: And please - this is not a 'suggestion', I understand you are upset OP, but please don't abuse the forums.

Yea, I did try that, was nothing listed under it, I updated with a fix.

so..... This forum used to be Suggestions and Feedback, so, Suggestions are welcome but Feedback isn't anymore ... got it. No one needs to know what people think of things anymore anyway.

I don't know how to quote on this new board yet, but:
"Well, it's called Suggestions now ... and this is a rant thread (read your OP, pretty clear). Rant Threads => DD 🤷‍♀️ "
Was beyond sufficient, I heard you the first time, I already know how well Suggestions are received by FDev (Ignored) and the community (Argued to a 100 pieces until it turned in to a fight.) At least feedback was useful, so Fdev could take measure at least on the condition of the community.

I was frustrated with an obvious issue with the game, one of many, and over the 3 years I have been playing running into so many issues it's laughable. People make videos on how to get around bugs that exist for months or years should be an embarrassment to the Devs. But, if Apologists want to protect Fdev, well, I guess this Update is a preview of thing to come in next few years for Elite, and that ain't looking too good if feedback isn't welcome anymore.

I don't know if your a mod or not, don't care, I see the 'thought police' have taken over. So, don't worry, I have no need to return to this particular forum anymore.

Good Lord. I drive like a maniac most of the time and often take a four pack of SRVs just in case. I'll have to bear this in mind if..er, when, I blow them up.

you said you restocked, an SRV costs 1000 to replace and comes restocked
\\
restock makes the game think the SRV is there, write support and they should get to you soon,
\ \
I got stuck between 2 buildings while jumpin - wedged tight. prolly 30 min r so. they did a roll back to the event.

Ok, Im just here to support the report. Restocking is bugged and it also seems to crash the game from time to time. Its a very important issue to address.

Ok, I went through the new bug system reporting tool.
It is a bug in itself. It overwhelms people, so they rather not go through this.
The screenshot shows what I mean.

I pointed to this thread, where people actually can simply say, what is wrong. The new system ask you questions that you can only answer, if you have at least some IT experience. It frightens people away with all the questions before you get to the point. The game makes a hardware survey, which you can send but the tool asks you all the stuff, the survey already knows. The "casual" player might not. Questions about the ISP. I mean, next they ask for about my
underwear. I dont know who taught them software ergonomic but the flunked it.

Just to confirm, I have this exact same problem. If I lose an SRV, in order to replace it I have to sell the whole hanger, rebuy it and then rebuy all SRVs.
