SRV cant re-enter ship

I just had to abandon my second SRV on a planet because it refused to re-enter the ship even though everything said I could enter the ship with it. I click the board ship (for the SRV) and nothing happens. The SRV wont go back to the ship. The entire entry process just refuses to initiate.

Edit: I have done this hundreds of times before. It's not some kind of noob problem.

Did you have more cargo than your ship could take? I had something similar happen to me a week ago, and that's what the problem was. There wasn't any message to tell my WHY I couldn't board, just wouldn't work, if I recall.

I usually keep at least some cargo space for rescue pods and things like that. But I found out that dismissing the ship and having it land somewhere else sometimes fixes the problem. I suspect the new autoland feature is just more prone to selecting bad spots than when I do it manually.
