SRV controls

PLEASE FIX THIS!
For those that don't know, here is the summary to date:
1. The SRV controls USED to work ok (as far as I was concerned anyway)
2. Now, there are 2 problems:
a. the 'go-slow-stop' problem - the SRV lurches forward for a few metres, then comes to a halt. All on its own.
b. the 'frenzy' problem - no matter what the throttle setting, the SRV speeds forward wildly at maximum throttle. Only workaround is to handbrake, and then 'kangaroo hop' forward

(Yes, I know there is a ticket for this, and I've added my name to it. This is just an additional, anguished plea from the heart)

Whoever perpetrated this ought to get fired.
Wot, you say, what if if was the person who did all that great work on the surfaces of the planets?
Yeah? Well, if it was that person, he/she 'fixed' something that WASN'T BROKEN and should still get fired. So long, and thanks for all the rocks.
End of rant

Works fine here, turn off Driver- Assist.
in doing so, 5 buttons are required to scan the terrain: forward, left, right and head turns to both sides.
with driver assits only 4 are needed, the speed remains constant.

I find it inconvenient to have to continually press forward. I agree with OP

Throttle control! Head look!

It is possible to better control the SRV with the driver assist off as Varonica suggests,
BUT don't you think that it's incongruous that the problems I've outlined in the OP can be addressed by turning OFF something called driver-ASSIST....?
And to repeat ... this is not how it used to work; formerly you could set the throttle to a certain speed and forget about it, the SRV maintained a constant speed.
Nothing in the notes ever alerted this change.
Applying the workaround suggested, it is necessary to keep 'feathering' the throttle, otherwise the SRV eventually rolls to a halt, so Ebrells point is well made

Because of driver assist, that's how it works.
if it worked properly, yes (same as Horizons), but at EDO when the SRV encounters an obstacle or a slope, as soon as it is released the speed of the SRV rises above the limitation, this is a mistake. Also takes too long to recognize changes, which leads to successive forwards and backwards.

What you describe is how it works for me. I can drive with constant 5 or 7 or 15.
I believe (not currently playing) there is a setting which you can change to something like "incremental" or so.

Works fine for me. You may have a problem with your controller or controller settings. You do know, you can set controls for SRV in options ? (throttle problem, maybe you have toggle mode ON)
