SRV damage bug due to multi-player?

I've just spent the last 30 minutes prospecting on BP 2 and concluded a few things:

1. The ultra-damage issue seems to be more to do with being in an instance with others (like the bad old days of DWE). After 30 mins my hull was down to 92%. I had to repair 3 times on the way to Sanctuary Hill and was still down to 22% on the 2.1 release day.
2. Finding materials is definitely no harder. I was picking Arsenic all over and vanadium was just as easy to find.
3. Do NOT have the explorer music on when driving in twighlight on your own. It is seriously creepy. No really. I'm hugging my blanky right now.

You are still more vulnerable driving now, but nothing as bad as it appears to be when instanced with others.

Weird as i was thinking 2 things right now
1. That music is super creepy
2. In amongst other pilots my SRV takes much more damage, purely because they make me drive like an £$%^&* :D
(50% hull loss in 20 mins vs 2% loss on my own(in 2 hours)

I always suspected that the ultra-damage might be related to framerate which would typically be lower if in an instance with others. If the physics calculations are in any way tied to the framerate then that would be an explanation for it.

Yeah, I'd be quite confident about (1). I've never had an issue like that, playing in Solo, but based on some of the rubber-banding I see in Groups play, I can only imagine how the game code is coping. If you saw the Christmas Livestream, you'd have seen the guys driving along and suddenly their SRV goes down to 50% hull for no reason, while other Cmdrs saw them take a massive tumble.

My guess is that it's predictive execution done wrong.

Player A is travelling along at speed, Player B is an observer in the same instance.
Player A is briefly disconnected due to [network gremlins].
Player B's client assumes Player A is just continuing what A was doing, travelling along at speed, and thus into a rock/boulder/off a cliff.
Player A reconnects.. "I'm fine!"
Player B's client: "No, you're not!. I saw you DIE!"
Player A's client: BOOM
Player A:    ?
