I second this. The number of times I've bogged down a really nice build with a heavy annoying vehicle hanger is infuriating!
Also mods directly effecting the SRV Bay would be nice (such as lightweight shielded etc).

I can imagine hitting a pebble at near 100m/s land speed and immediately popping on impact!
I am actually for this idea, something to sink my time into for a bit of fun!!

I want a stupidly fast/flying SRV.
I've suggested before that the SRV should have basic outfitting, even if somewhat limited.
Pick shields, pick engine, pick thrusters (separate to engines), PP, PD, chassis, and split the turret mount in to two individual class 0 weapon slots, and 1/2 scanner slots.
Mass decreases speed and thruster performance.
Then allow us to engineer it.
I would like to engineer both the SRV and the Fighters. However frontier apparently has a new SRV in the works that they havent told us about yet according to the game files listed as "SRV MKII"
Oh let me guess, it will be another copy and paste of the original but with a spoiler!!!!
Having more specialised SRV's would be nice (combat, cargo, Super speedy scout versions!) the current SRV is more of a multi role, would like to see ones that excel in some places but fall behind in others (Tank pretty please!!!! With a railgun on top?
