Srv fuel

So I'm out exploring and my srv is almost out of gas so I go to use synthesis and refuel it, but it says srv required. Wth am I doing wrong, do I have to be airborn to refuel the srv? Why doesn't it detect that I have one? And also I do have the power on to that module. Any advice?

Just did, and that worked. Never thought of trying it while I was in the srv. Thanks for your help. No matter how long I've played this game, it still makes me feel like a noob.

There is a bug as well at the moment where it's giving inaccurate fuel reading, you can fill up at a station and it will only say 45% fuel or some other random percentage but it is actually full. Bugged buggy.

Mine always says 45% when onboard ship. But is full when in buggy and yes this game always has a surprise or two.

I tried the special refuel recently, after 2.2, giving extra fuel efficiency and it didn't seem to make any difference to me, is this bugged too?

It's seldom pointed out that your SRV has to synth fuel without nicking a tiny bit from your ship's fuel tank, but when you do board your ship, your damage magically repairs itself.

Hey, at least we were never worried about realism ;)

The srv bay auto repairs it in a similar way as the hangar bay 'builds' you another fighter when destroyed. Future technology is great :D

I always just repair the srv myself after bouncing down cliffs and craters, because the mats required are in plentiful supply on most planets.

Future technology....so great that bays can repair massive moon buggies, but can't transport a couple of litres of liquid a few metres ;)

The SRV uses a different kind of fuel than the ship. ;p

There would be no real need to, and even if there were, even the thickest of designers building an SRV bay that can automatically repair it would realise that having an SRV fuel reserve is pretty much mandatory. IRL relying on finding materials to have fuel for such a vehicle would be downright moronic.

It's handwavium, but I don't care because realism doesn't bother me. It's a space game :p
