srv ideas

make it stronger you run over a pebble and it brakes
also increase cargo 2 tons is not good enough 8 to 16 or even 32 would be more useful

scanner is not visible very well when lights are on and engine is to loud drowns out the scanner

a 32 ton car would be so massive it would be useless. the biggest thing you would want is like 4 tons and that would be a lumbering beats. Up the Horse power a bit on the existing SRV spread out the wheels and add some mass is all you need. a longer model will reduce the spinning out and better assist the driver how ever its climbing potential would be deminished. also the vehichle would only have preactical implementation in larger wessels that can house fighter hangars.
you would also be able to put the engine furhter away from the drivers seat like a bus. combat potential and survival ability traded for practicality. also have a larger scan range.

I feel as if SRV is a multipurpose model and its main function is exploration. I believe we need different models for different functions, such as a mining model.
A mining vehicle could be similar to the one we have now, but it can not be of greater proportions, as it would not be possible to engage in the cargo model we currently have. It should contain independent drilling probes, in an amount of 4 to 8, where each probe can excavate and fill two canisters each. Your scanner must be of different function and must scan for ore veins on planets, for better extraction.
When your scanner determines the location, the job begins, you must program the drilling probes, and they will drill and refill the canisters and you will have to be making trips, two by two until you fill the ship. And collect the equipment to go and market the product.

FD published some cool concept art for other SRV styles. I'd like to see those added to the game, along with player controlled skimmers.

... player controlled skimmers.

This, please.

Edit: On a personal note, the SRV is the only part of the game I can't do in VR, despite the options available to try to avoid motion sickness. Skimmers would be so wonderful instead.

I'd love to see more variance in SRV's, even the chance of SRV transport missions using SRV's that can't dock in a ship.

However, for the love of God, make them a bit more resilient. These are rough terrain vehicles but the way they damage so easily, I wouldn't trust them to drive without breaking on the road (especially considering how many potholes there are on the UK roads now).
