SRV navigation with a compass

I know we have Lon/Lat co-ordinates, but I would really like to see a compass added to the SRV for quick reference to determine what direction I am travelling in. Since as far as we know all planets rotate we can use geographical poles as reference points for a compass. For spice it could switch to a magnetic compass for planets that have a magnetic field.

The SRV already has a heading display. Top of the HUD, the ship has one too, unfortunately not whilst in Orbital cruise.

777Driver answered the question directly, however you can use your dash compass too. Select a hyperspace destination whilst in your ship, then when you enter the SRV it will still show it. I also use the skybox, using a visibe nebula or local body & travelling relative to it.

Below picture. I market the heading indicator to you. The picture is from horizon 2.0 beta 3 but its still in same place. 0 or 360 is North, 90 is East, 180 is South, 270 is West.

Bear in mind that since 2.1, the compass is out (for most planets that I've seen at least) by 180°. 0° points South. 180° points North.

Depends what side of the equator you are on, the long/lat -/+ flips when you cross hemispheres.

If you're travelling North, your latitude should increase (towards 90°). If you're travelling South, your latitude should decrease (towards -90°). What side of the equator you're on doesn't (shouldn't) affect your heading.
