SRV roll/pitch and thrust control issues

So, I have a few issues with the control of the SRV while it's in the air, and also re: use of thrusters.

Firstly roll and pitch controls. These seem to be behaving in a flight-assist off mode in that once you've started rolling/pitching you then have to manually counter your rolling/pitching motion to regain level flight. Is this the intended behaviour? Does it have anything at all to do with drive assist? (I'm guessing not 'cos that's all about the throttle right?). Only, not being a flight-assist off master I'm finding it really hard to regain level attitude once I've lost it.

Secondly, there was a lot of talk from FD in the run-up to Horizons about the use of thrusters on the SRV. There was a strong suggestion that vertical thrusters could be used, not only to lift up, but also to push down (for extra grip on low g). FD hinted at this fairly explicitly on several occasions. However, I'm not seeing any evidence of this now. Is there even a binding for vertical thrust down in the SRV? Instead we now seem to only have the vertical boost thing (the thing that uses up your pips to boost up and feather your descent back down). Originally I bound this to my usual boost button but, in the absence of any normal vertical thrust controls, I've now bound this to my usual thrust up button. Similarly, are there any lateral thrust controls for the SRV now? e.g. Is it possible to thrust/strafe sideaways while in the air?

you do have to correct your roll or pitch mate....(imo be a bit strange if we didnt)..and thrusters?...i have only noticed i can thrust up,i may be wrong,i dont recall trying.

I'm using a joystick ... and I'd kind of expected that a flight-assist mode toggle would apply in the same way as it does for the ship. I.e. with flight-assist off it would behave as the buggy does currently, and with flight-assist on, if I tilt my stick to the right, the SRV would roll to the right, but as soon as I let the stick spring back to center, it would stop rolling (e.g. leaving my SRV tilted, but not still rolling).

yeah im using a hotas....i understand what your saying now....i kinda never really noticed until you mention it...i have got used to re adjusting it...i play a lot of flight sims so i kinda like that myself mate.
