Can anyone assist on how to use the SRV scanner and mainly how do I target a rock in order to get the minerals out of it. I saw on twitch some guy was shooting at the rocks and desintegrating them, after that going over the pieces and pick up the minerals. The thing is I can not target the rock and shooting on random rocks doesn;t do it.
Needs to be special rocks, you can target those. The scanner makes different beeps for materials and metals, just keep a signal central and you'll come across it eventually then target, shoot, cargo scoop and run over, jobs a golden.

, now after I deploy the cargo scoop module with (home) button and run over the mineral rocks, it doesn't actually getting them, they remain on the surface. Is the scooping suppose to be operating automatic, or I need to trigger it?

The arcs on the scanner shows where the materials are. The size of the arc shows the distance, the nearer you get the narrower it gets allowing you to home in.
Once you're near enough you can target the rocks, they are generally different colours than the normal rocks.
Blast the rock with the SRV's weapon it breaks into smaller chunks.
Deploy the cargo scoop you'll need to make sure you've targeted the chunks, then drive over them to pick them up.
Apparently the sound and shapes of the arc on the scanner change dependant upon the material.
