Horizons SRV scanner broken?

Missions and passenger missions nerfed to death, so I thought I would go collect some material from the planet surface for the engineers. Had not realised that not only is finding a special rock a RNG event, whether it has what you want a RNG event but also now whether the SRV scanner loses it lock or goes completely blank is another layer of RNG.


Perhaps there is a new key bind for working the scanner, but I could not find it. Not a good day. I once joked that FD = frustration development.

I'm also noticing some odd spawning behavior for Arsenic. Was trying to collect some the other day and had a hell of a time getting my usual 25 units. Materials listed at half the percentage and even lower were far more common in outcrops and meteorites than the Arsenic listed at 2.5% and up to 2.7%.

Tried several planets, all the same behavior.

With all the latest bugs and issues taken as a whole, it is getting increasingly hard to motivate myself to even bother launching this game any more.
