SRV Scanner Guide

Hello Commanders,
I thought I'd put something back into the community since I find the forums very informative.
I have created a picture of the SRV scanner guide when looking for certain rocks on a expedition.

I was out looking for Polonium for the very first time (after reading its very very rare) (I found 4 in 1.5 hours!!!!) and kept coming across rocks I didn't need as I was looking for a specific rock i.e for Polonium a Metallic Meteorite or a Mesosiderite was needed ( 3 x Polonium in Metallic Meteorite and 1 x in Mesosiderite....to my surprise). I noticed the scanner made distinctive shapes for each type of rock.
  • There are 2 different types of outcrops, Metallic and non-metallic - Metallic ones tend do be more noisier (graphically) and gives a more distinctive thinner double line.
  • Metal in Mesosiderite also effects the scanner and can be distinguished where it has high or low metal content the i.e noiser (grapically) the more metal content it may have.

Before you say 'follow the sounds' - I can't, I am hard of hearing and I cannot distinguish different sounds for types of rocks the scanner makes.

Any further changes or suggestion would be very welcome.

Enjoy!!

rep'd both of you. Batheos for the effort to make and share something, Zytrel for pointing me in the direction of that site which looks great

Am I the only one for who the selection bar on that site fades out and never back in despite being still there? I can see the cursor still changing when hovering.
Great site but that part is a bit bothersome and not really needed in the first place : /

Also good to know what a barnacle looks like, when I found some the result didn't make sense and wasn't even close to the shown though until I was so close that I didn't need the signal in the first place anymore. Maybe that was just broken...

Yes, it fades out after a few seconds. You can bring it back by simply left clicking anywhere in the image. :)

Regards,
zy.

I've said elsewhere that we need a more explicit link between the rarity of materials & the Wave Scanner signal....much like we currently do between made made and natural PoI's.
