SRV severe lag on some surfaces

As the title reports, I'm suffering from sometimes unplayable lag on planet surfaces. What doesn't make sense is that sometimes the populated planets are smoother than the remote non populated surfaces. It also doesn't seem dependent on planet surface detail.

Is this something that will ever be smoothed out or is there something more complicated behind it? Right now, the surface I'm roaming is stuttering/pausing every 3 seconds that I can't judge my SRV landing or steering properly. It's all over the place.

I've done cache clears etc. Shame, though, it's an immersion breaker when it's like this

What is your internet speed? Also, do you have any other apps going in the background? Make sure you quit them on the home screen after closing them out. Maybe just let it sit for a few seconds after deploying your SRV. Grab a drink or something to snack on. That might give the surface enough time to load.

Surface is loaded fine. I've seen other people report this in the past. I'd hoped since being patched that it might have been fixed but it's still a problem. As I also said, it can be smooth some planets, then consistently jittery on others to the point of being unplayable.

My Internet is very fast. No apps running in background either.

Ah. Okay. My mistake. So far the only lag I've hit landing on planets is getting into my SRV. Worst I hit was about 30 seconds on a black screen, until my very poorly rendered SRV bay popped into view. I really hope this clears up in the next update. In the meantime, I guess you could just think of it as neural link lag. Those Thargoids are devious.

Its called frame drops and yes horizons is horribly optimized on Xbox One. They need to rush it out though before people lost interest. Maybe they will find time to work on it...maybe they won't.

I find the frame rate of srv gameplay absolutely unacceptable. I avoid it whenever possible.

Some people are really susceptible to frame rate issues. And others are either not bothered by it, or just ignore it. Dark Souls 3 is a perfect example. No matter how good the game may or may not be, I find it unplayable because the frame rate is garbage.

DS3, really? It's ok for me on xbox. It sometimes drops as with the previous games but it's not garbage.

The SRV choppy framerate problem seems to have crept in over the last few patches though. Ironically, it was fine for me with the initial (very buggy) release of Horizons but it seems much worse now with the latest patch

Try pointing your ship to the ground and blasting a spot with a beam laser. Never knew dust could cause so much lag.
