SRV Shenanigans

When Horizons pops...

...can I land my Sidewinder, drive my SRV sneakily up to someone else's ship, dock with it and steal it...all the while flicking their SRV the bird out of the window as I fly off into the sunset in their shiny Courier?

If not, why not?!?

Would be nice way to transfer credits from one account to the other

Yes you can. DB stated all ships will have SRV capabilities but in the sidewinder or Eagle that may be all you can carry.

In response to the OP in general this was discussed during the DDF at some point I believe. I do not think it will be coming into the game with 2.0 though.
Didn't they end up saying that you would need a C4 internal slot for it? Or was I imagining things.

Afaik the only official Dev comment was that the SRV will weigh 4T although that particular piece of information about a C4 slot has been circulating prominently but I did re-play the stream a while back and there was no mention of a C4 slot being needed.

David said in one of the devs videos that you could steal other commanders ship. However It will not be for now, maybe when the FPS goes live it will be possible.

It looks like there will indeed be a module and associated bays for vehicles.

The exact figures aren't finalised yet, but we're looking at around 25,000 credits for the basic module. The module can have one of more slots and each slot can hold one vehicle bay, you buy the bay (which includes an SRV) for 5,000 credits (TBD). If the SRV is destroyed then you need to buy a replacement and bigger modules can have more than one slot.

Sounds like a definitely have to get rid of one of my modules then. I hope the one slot SRV module can fit in the compartment for my 4 ton cargo module. That would be the least painful sacrifice to make and still would leave me with 64 tons of cargo space.

SRV's take 4 tonnes of cargo space. Any ship that can have that much cargo space, can get an SRV.

The Scarab SRV is 4T. It most likely won't occupy cargo space but a vehicle bay in a specific module (see my post above for a quote from Michael Brookes).
