Could've sworn I had analogue steering from turret view with my x55, but it being an x55 it broke and had to be sent back - saitek sent me a new x56 in exchange.
On my x55 I had the main stick as steering and pitch, twist as roll. Turret x and y were done with the main stick, rudder was steering - I'm sure I remember this steering to be analogue
The x56 came the turret premapped as one of the thumb sticks. Didn't really like that so tried setting it back up as the x55 was, but the only way I can see now to map the rudder to the steering in turret is the Steer Left and Steer Right mappings, which are digital.
Was I just imagining that there was a second steering analogue input axis (I set up the x55 before the UI change to the mapping screen) and had gotten used to just using the digital inputs instead?
What there really needs to be is a Turret Control Overrides mapping group like there is for landing.
