SRV Stuck/Remove Horizons?

Hello all,

Exploring deep space, when I got my SRV stuck in a crevasse I cant escape from. I certainly dont want to self-destruct, so I was curious if anybody knew (with certainty) if uninstalling and reinstalling horizons will plant me in space with srv in the ship. I just dont want to lose my srv if I delete horizons.

Don't uninstall Horizons:
1. Quit the game.
2. Restart game in non-Horizon mode.
3. You will be put in orbit of the planet with your SRV inside ship.
4. Restart in Horizons mode.

Right, I have seen that method before.

I only ask on the xbox forum because im not sure if it is possible to start elite dangerous in a "non-horizon" mode (on XB1), unless im just blatantly unaware of how to do so

You can do it by uninstalling the Horizons DLC from the console, leaving the rest intact. Press the Menu (Start) button on the Elite tile and choose "Manage game". There you'll see the installed parts and you can uninstall Horizons only. After this, start the game and since you won't have Horizons installed you'll be in non-Horizons mode thus spawn in orbit. Then you can quit, reinstall Horizons and start again properly. Hope this helps.

You could also try asking anyone who pops into the system to help out with a nudge ; )

Try toggling your cargo bay door a couple times. Should do the trick.

Okay, I will certainly try that method. I was only a little concerned about losing my SRV when the game registers the fact that I don't have horizons.

I certainly would but im not sure how many people pass through a star thats 10,000 LY from Sol on a daily basis

I'll give that a try before anything else! I think my biggest problem is that im a fool to have done this on a (relatively) high gravity planet (1.8g). Thrusters arent worth much anymore, and the only things beyond the crevasse im stuck in is more crevasseseseseses..... and the ship has nowhere to land.. :\
