SRV undock UNAVAILABLE - Launch Bay Malfunction (4)

EDIT: SOLVED!

Thanks to Commander Bisquit!

Turn off and back on the SRV hangar...

This in the middle of nowhere, after auto-landing on a perfectly smooth and flat surface!!!

What gives? Ship repair, AFM Repair doesn't fix it!

So I wasted my time flying out here and I can't do anything for no reason whatever...

Odyssey - man, its awful...

I mean playing computer games is always a waste of time, but with Odyssey, we don't even get that infantile sense of doing SOMETHING to advance our space ship's lead-out or whatever...

EDIT:

I've logged out, logged back in.
I've restarted the game.
Then I've restarted the game in Horizons mode.
Then back into Odyssey mode.

Each time I've done the ship repair.

No Cigar - its permanently broken as far as I can tell.

Power issue ? My explorer have (on purpose) less power than it should, so when I land I have a delay before power goes from thrusters to the SRV bay, and I see the same thing than you until the power come.

I've occasionally encountered invisible rocks on the surface (not fun to find with your SRV at top speed). If there's one under the bay, it might be blocking deployment.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I actually meant the srv bay itself. I had an issue with it once that was solved by disabling it and then powering it back on. (no joke)

Nope, no power issue - everything is powered, nothing is weird other than the SRV undock.

Well if you haven't landed on a big rock, there is power going to the module and it is not actually damaged, then it has to be a bug.
I'd report it.

Tried moving the ship to another spot?
From my experience, even if the terrain is too rough to drop the SRV, it will still drop the SRV. Yes, that was very bouncy, and I dismissed the ship as fast as I could before explosion and rebuy screen happened.

I also have the same issue. I am at DAV's HOPE and can't deploy my SRV as it is saying "LAUNCH BAY MALFUNCTION (4)".
also having issues with cargo scoop. I deploy limpet but then can't open cargo scoop.

OK so i must be stupid, I was certain i checked my modules. It wasn't powered.
Now can't seem to be able to power ship thrusters. It shows inactive and when i try to activate it it does nothing. Health of module is 99%

If you are landed, thrusters are disabled. It's automatic. I use this to power my SRV bay when landed, despite having an undersized PP (power is automatically rerouted there).

And you can't quote undersized PP out of context.

Don't blame Odyssey, jeez everyone jumping the guns. This is the message you get when your SRV bay doesn't have power.

I saw this the other day on my explorer -- having forgotten that I keep its SRV bay and cargo hatch unpowered normally.

Thanks! That is something I haven't tried yet...

That actually did it!

These days, there are more things in Elite that do weird on their own than in windows 10, and that had been unsurpassed so far...

Glad you got it working. Just so you know though, this bug (feature?) does pre-date Odyssey so we can't blame it for that.

My headcanon is that it's not a game bug, but rather a bug in the SRV bay's firmware, due to the nature of how we fix it.
