Horizons SRV : Vertical scanner lines

I sometimes have nothing but vertical lines on my SRV scanner. Sometimes I go towards them and end up getting a hit on the scanner(find Ore or crashed ship/booty).
Is this correct or is it just pot luck that I find something?
Or is there a proper explanation of what these lines mean?

Any idea over which distance we speak than ?

I'd guess 2-3km or more. You may come across other things before you get to it, materials and such like, but it should eventually resolve to some horizontal lines across the top.

EDIT - looking at the screenshot, I can see traces of two parallel lines above half way up. Just to the right of the vertical lines and to the left of the white arrow. That's probably what it will end up as once he gets closer.

Off Topic : My GF has them,Frogs, living in 2 water buckets, in the corner of her garden. They are sheltered with over grown vegetation over their bucket area
(and the other day she disturbed a big Toad that chased her lol )

I've used it a lot, before I just remembered the tone for meteors, screw anything else. It always crashed the browser on me while I was playing the game, though.

FWIW it did just fine on my smart phone here which is, almost certainly, how I would use it in-game.
