SRV - What is that Number??

In the SRV where the Ship Temperature is I see a number that starts at 27%
but as I'm moving around it gradually decreases. Lowest it's got is 15% b4 re-boarding the ship.
"IS" that a temperature reading? If so what happens if I let it get to 0?

It is the temperature gauge, but it doesn't seem to be affected by the same things that ship temperature does - turning off modules has no effect. Could try things like landing on very hot planets or shooting an SRV with thermal shock weapons to see what does or doesn't make a difference to it. No idea what happens if it reaches zero!

I think it has something to do with Brass Monkeys ... ;)

I was on a planet with a Surface temp of 650 K. Shouldn't be dropping at all!
I figured it was Temp cause of location and adjacent icon but couldn't
understand why it gets colder on a planet that hot!

When it gets to around 12% it starts to ice up. It seems purely time bound. I tried powering everything *up* to try and keep it warm but it makes no difference.
Iirc the lowest I saw was 5% after around 8 hrs or so. Never got that low again cos something would always force a relog (eg transaction error) but I saw 10% fairly regular on BP2

Edit
This post has a series of temps....lowest was 7%. Sure I saw 5 at one point but no shot.

While we're on the subject (on the ground that is) is there a 3rd party GPS program that can be used?
I'm using ED Discovery and it shows Coords for landings and takeoffs but how can I log a feature I find
in between those points? I looked thru the ED: Codex but saw nothing listed.

There isn't such a program because making one would mean reading memory values from the game which is against the EULA/TOS for the game and something FDev has been pretty strict on. I have tried a work around using the netlog coordinates but they are not updated enough to make it very useful.

If you summon and board the ship, does that help? (Ok, ok, I could check it myself if I wasn't smashed. I probably shouldn't be landing... :D )
