I've wondered since since my beginning involment with ED why one has to grind their way to the Corvette or the Cutter offered by the either the two separate major factions when. One doesn't have to choose to be exclusive. One can grind to the vette and then the cutter or visa versa. Their membership is either Navy has no concequents upon their membership in the other. Thus one doesn't have to swear alligence to one or the other, has never made any sence to me. But one has to swear alligence to a smaller faction and after doing so, must on occasion suffer possible consequents. That seems backwards to me.
I'd concur that at some point in the game, one would have to choose between the three major parties be it Federal, Empire or Indenpendents. And there should be consequences for those that don't choose at all and or choose one of the others; Much like the smaller factions do. I mean one can earn their way to a cutter and then decorate it with all Federal decales or visa versa in regards to the vette. Either the major factions are separate or their not, which is it? If they are not separate, why have them involved with any of the lore.
I mean one can state the Federal have issues and cause problems for the Empire in which the Empire feels they must defend or the Empire has issues and cause problems with the Federal in which they feel compelled to deal with. But if they are one of the same, what's the difference?
I'd like to see some sort of consequences for joining either of the three major factions by the others. Just like there is in the smaller factions.
