Staff and Guests walk through walls

I have built a building and I've dicovered some ugly bugs:

  • Zoo keepers are walking on one point while they want to go to the vivarium. But they do not reach the vivarium while the animal is going to die 'cause they zoo keeper is not able to feed the animal. This most happens if the Vivarium is on another floor, but not to each zoo keeper but to some.
  • Guests are still walking on staff paths
  • Guests are walking through walls. Also staff and guests have enough place to walk on a path but they prefer walking at the edge of the pats through walls (remembering Planet Coaster?). I thank we need barriers to regulate there walks (like in planet coaster).
  • If staff or guests are in the near of stairs the prefer walking through walls to reach the next floor.
- Guests are doing "moonwalk" and gliding upon the floor like they are on a treadmill.
Sorry to say that, but generally it is still difficult to use the path building system especially if you are using "both possibilities" (plaza mode and path mode). It's still very difficult to combine those modes if there are stairs within the path system. I have had the problem that the stairs and the paths seemed to be connected but they were not. On the second floor I had placed the staff building, but 'cause of this problem the zookeepers can't reach the staff buildings and the animals are going to die one after the other up to the moment I realized this problem.

I've seen them go off the edges of a path a bit or cut corners too. It's limiting because we can't build anything too close to the paths.

Hopefully they will do what they did in planet coaster an provide a couple of objects you could use as blockers that you can hide in the scenery but which force the guest pathing around them. It worked well and meant there was still the necessary flexibility

I would also like this to be changed. I can understand People being able to walk trough Doors but it is annoying with everything else where they shouldn't be able to walk trough

No? Then it doesn't annoy you that much I would say. If it was getting my goat I'd just use the standard arch doorways which are 4m wide.

for players who know the difference between archways and doors a possibility for having staff or guests walking through doors would be great. for guests wider doors like 4-8m wide sliding doors would be awesome because the current path finding would lead to them getting stuck.

It's a good thing that humans can walk through construction pieces, tbh. There's buildings and decorations I've made, that are very close to paths, and floor tiles that I cover the paths with. (to make it look like the guests are just waking on a floor.) If Frontier suddenly changed it so construction pieces DO interfere with where guests could go... many player's zoos would be destroyed. Think about the nightmare that pathing can be. Now imagine an even worse version of that, where you can't overlap construction pieces with paths, without the game crapping its pants over where the guests can access.

That's right. But there seem to be elements in Planet Coaster to steer guest movement and so far that's what the contributors of this thread are mainly aiming for. The possibility of having staff/ guests not walking through walls (e.g. instead using 'doors') not having this as the general rule/ behaviour.
